Our yearling is growing up

Here’s a snap of our Always B Miki yearling filly, as yet unamed, taken on a recent trip to Simon Adlam’s training quarters in Ashburton. For those own don’t recognise the handler, it’s Simon’s brother Greg.

Always B Miki is on fire at present and we’re hoping that transfers across to our two fillies. His North American progeny have been eligible to race in 12 Breeders Crown Finals since they debuted in 2020. From those 12 Finals, he has sired 6 of the winners. When compared to other pacing stallions, he has sired three times as many winners as his closest rival, Somebeachsomewhere who has sired two winners.

Downunder, Always B Miki has sired 19 stakes horses from his debut crop, including four Group 1 winners. The latest of these include Tricky Miki (Group 1 Western Australia 3YO Derby) and Future Assured (Group 3 Sunshine Stars Yearling Sale 3YO Colts and Geldings Classic at Albion Park). In New Zealand, his best performers from 20 winners to date, being Franco Indie, Aardie’s Express, and Miki Montana. A strike rate of 50% from 40 starters.
