Fantastic to see a Live or Die broodmare leave the winner of this year’s premier race, Copy That (by American Ideal out of Lively Nights).

Slow early before grabbing the lead after 800m, Copy That controlled the tempo from thereon having plenty in reserve at the line to easily hold out the favourite Self Assured and record a comfortable victory by 2 1/2 lengths. The time for the 3200m stand was 3-58.8. Copy That is trained by Ray Green for Lincoln Farms, Pukekohe.

Our foundation mare Wave Runner is bred to Live or Die, while the staying prowess when crossed with American Ideal having also been proven through Kilowatt Kid (her 5th foal).

Wave Runner progeny, Bonnie Joan (1.52.8) and Break Dance (1.53.3), sit behind Terror to Love (1.51.1), Copy That (1.52.0) and The Devil’s Own (1.52.4) as the fastest Dam Sire progeny of Live or Die to race in New Zealand.
