Kilowatt Kid records 2nd USA win
There was no fooling Kilowatt Kid on 1 April 2022, when recording a two and a quarter length win at Yonkers Raceway, New York. He ran the 1609m mobile in a career best 1.51.6 for driver Marcus Miller and trainer Rob Harmon. In doing so the 7YG recorded his second win on USA soil and the eleventh of his career from 57 starts, to date.
Kilowatt Kid is the 5th foal of Wave Runner and the only one sired by American Ideal thusfar. After starting life in style as a 3YG with a win at Winton, New Zealand on 28 Sep 2017 for trainer Alister Black, he forged a handy NZ record with 5 wins, 6 placings and $50k stakes from 25 starts. In early 2020 he moved to Greg Bond in Perth, Australia - delivering a further 4 wins, 5 placings and $27k from 15 starts.
His American career began in September 2021 and now stands at 17 starts for 2 wins and 5 placings for circa $35k.
We’re still figuring out how to capture the USA videos, but you can watch his first career start and win here.
