Need You Now wins Premier Mares Championship

A smart drive by John Dunn has seen the 5YO Bettors Delight mare take out the Group 2 feature race at Addington. Allamericanlover flashed home for second, with Belle of Montana a game third. The number one ranked mare, Bettor Twirl, having to settle for 4th on this ocassion.

While our family wasn’t represented this year, we’ve had our share of success in the race with Bonnie Joan (Wave Runner’s 4th foal) taking out the 2018 event in 2.19.7, the 2nd fastest time. Extended family member, Tangos Delight took out the 2016 event in 2:20.1.

The race record of 2.19.1 (mile rate 1.54.7) over the 1950m mobile was set by Bettor B Amazed, who gave John his first victory in the race in 2017.

Wave Runner herself placed 3rd behind Kiwi Ingenuity and Nearea Franco in the 2009 event as a 5YO. You can watch a replay here.
