Point Break surfs home in style to first win

16 June 2023 - Addington Raceway, Christchurch

After a fast finishing third on debut, the week before, Point Break proved too strong for a game Commander Joe and seven others over the 1980m mobile. Recording a 1.56:6 mile rate.

Driver, Ricky May, opted to stay out of the early rush and settled three back the rails before moving to the parked position, as the pace eased, from the 1000m. The 3YG sprinting nicely to the line to record a 1.25 length victory with a bit in hand.

Point Break is Wave Runner’s third grandchild, and follows in the footsteps of his brother, Matt Major (a 4YH American Ideal) and cousin, Alwaysbealady (Always B Miki - Digital Art).

By Bettor’s Delight, Point Break is Break Dance’s second foal and became the eleventh individual winner of the Wave Runner family who’s record stands at 64 wins.
