Sand Wave delivers win 50 for the family

At his first raceday start on the grass, Sand Wave recorded a winning time of 2-15.5 for the 1750m mobile and smashed the previous track record of 2-19.3 held for three years by Captain Starlight. Watch a replay here.

It was Sand Wave’s sixth win for the season and most notably the 50th win by Wave Runner progeny, almost 9 years since Digital Art (Art Major) delivered her first winner for Cran Dalgety at Addington Raceway on 16 May 2014. Watch a replay here.

Sand Wave also finished 2022 as Southland’s leading stake earner with $116k. Followed by Joes Rock $52k, Tommy Waterhouse $49k and Tairlaw Toll $47k.
